Credit guard identity protect? What does this mean? Well if you have been watching the news or listening to the radio then you know that credit fraud is on the rise. Millions of americans are victims of this crime and as our technology continues to become more advanced; then this crime will continue to rise.

It is up to use as a society to guard our credit to ensure that no one can access our personal information. Even though this crime is such a huge topic; there are still quite a bit of people who do not believe that this could ever happen to them. I am here to tell you that while you continue to believe that; you are trying to kid yourself.

There are steps that you can take right now to guard your credit to make sure that you do not become a victim and if you have college kids you may want to share these tips with them as well:

1. Never lend anyone your credit card: When I was in the military I was young and naive; and I had a friend (so I thought it was a friend) she wanted to use my credit card to place a phone call to her family. I gave her my credit card and “joila” just like that I had a big credit card bill and only one of the calls was mine. Tell your kids that no matter if they think they know their friends never lend them their credit cards.

2. Never give anyone your personal information: You should do everything possible to keep your information private. If someone gets a hold of any kind of your personal information then you could have easily lost your identity.

3. Credit guard identity protection: If you have not heard about the companies that will monitor your credit and personal information for a small fee; then you should highly ready more about Lifelock and some of the other well known protection companies. They will help you rest peacefully so that no one will try to use your name or information for evil.

If you take the proper measures to ensure that you and your family remain safe and do everything that you possibly can do to protect your identity; then you should lower your chances of ever becoming a victim of this crime
